Internship Program 2025
Batch 1 & Batch 2

Internship Program

Every year, Friends of Mayo Hospital organizes a summer internship program in collaboration with King Edward Medical University.
The program began with 15 interns in 2022, grew to 40 interns in 2023, and saw 200 interns participating in 2024.

The program draws students from various government and semi-government institutions, including medical colleges in Faisalabad, Multan, Vehari, and Burewala, as well as international universities and private schools from across Lahore. It features a diverse range of topics presented by King Edward Medical University faculty and other experts, including Research Writing, Mental Health Awareness, Burn Awareness, and Basic Life Skills.

Following the sessions, interns apply their knowledge in their communities, focusing on critical areas like burn and mental health awareness. They conduct educational activities at various locations such as schools, mosques, madrassas, gas stations, shops, and cafes.

This year’s program also included guest speaker Hajra Raza from AARC, adding valuable insights to the curriculum. The goal of the program is to equip interns with essential health knowledge, including CPR, first aid, mental health support, and disease prevention. It also aims to empower them to spread this knowledge within their communities, particularly in low-income areas, to help prevent illnesses and reduce the need for hospital visits by addressing health issues proactively.
